Tennessee Football continues loading up in trenches with 2025 DL commit Charles House

Momentum is picking up for Tennessee Football when it comes to the Vols’ 2025 recruiting class, and UT is doing it specifically in the trenches. That continued again Saturday while also building their pipeline back into the North Carolina area.

Charlotte area defensive lineman Charles House, a 247Sports Composite three-star out of North Mecklenburg High School in Huntersville, N.C., committed to UT on Saturday for 2025. House is 6’3″ and weighs 288 pounds. He announced his commitment to Rocky Top on Twitter.

House’s decision to commit to Tennessee Football comes days after in-state four-star offensive lineman Nic Moore committed to the Vols. It also comes as Josh Heupel is targeting five-star offensive lineman David Sanders Jr. and four-star edge rusher Isaiah Gibson.

Meanwhile, House is already the fourth defensive lineman and second defensive tackle committed to the Vols for 2025, and he’s the fifth player on the line overall. Simply put, House continues a trend by Heupel to focus heavily on loading up in the trenches this year.

Also, the prospect joins Daevin Hobbs, a highly-touted edge rusher in the Vols’ 2023 recruiting class, as another defensive lineman from North Carolina. While Heupel is seen as not a great recruiter and running a finesse system, his pipeline into that state and success in the trenches suggest otherwise.

Rodney Garner landed House over the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs. His height allows him leverage to play in a multiple scheme like what Tim Banks runs, and his highlight reel shows he can be an elite run-stopper, a nice complement to the elite pass rushers the Vols have.

With House’s commitment, Tennessee Football now has 13 commitments for 2024. It pushed the Vols into the top 15 on 247Sports Composite, and they could be right around the corner from getting back into the top 10 within the next week.
