Tennessee Lands Help In The Defensive Backfield

John Slaughter didn’t even need to complete his official visit before becoming a Vol. He announced his commitment to Tennessee on Saturday.

According to 247 Sports, Slaughter chose Tennessee over Florida State and Ole Miss. The 6-foot-1, 194-pound safety from Southaven (Miss.) High School is currently on UT’s campus with several highly prospects, which could prove to be one of the more lucrative weekends under second-year head coach Jeremy Heupel.

Slaughter’s decision wasn’t a surprise for those that were following his social media. There has been a budding relationship between Slaughter and Tennessee quarterback commitment Nico Iamaleava for weeks.
