Five-star quarterback and Tennessee football commit Nicholaus Iamaleava will miss the 2022 Elite 11 Finals, per 247 Sports.

The Elite 11 event highlights the top-ranked quarterbacks in the nation for a specific class. Iamaleava headlined the event alongside USC’s Malachi Nelson, Clemson’s Christopher Vizzina and the No. 4 QB prospect in the nation, Dante Moore, who is currently undecided.

Iamaleava did attend the Overtime 7v7 event earlier this year, showcasing his ability and solidifying himself, as one recruiting analyst put it, as a potential ‘impact player at the college level.’

That analyst, 247 Sports’ Brandon Ivins, had more to say about Iamaleava following the event.

“But I just loved everything about Nico. … Attacks down the field,” Ivins said via 247 Sports. “I think he tries to challenge himself. And the more I’ve been marinating on this, the thing that gets me excited about Nico is the fact that the arm, which is super talented — I mean, he can whip it like no other in this Class of 2023 — isn’t even married to the feet yet. His upper body and lower body aren’t in synch yet.”

Reports link Iamaleava to focusing on a volleyball tournament instead of attending the Elite 11 event, though they are not confirmed.

The No. 1 recruit in the nation, Arch Manning, will not be attending the event either.
