Tennessee got to work at the end of June, hosting a multitude of potential future Vols and adding key commitments from John Slaughter and Jerimiah Telander.
The Vols started July off on the right foot, adding three-star defensive lineman Tyree Weathersby out of Douglasville, Georgia Friday.
Weathersby has quickly rose the ranks on the recruiting trail and picked the Vols over Mississippi State, South Carolina and Kentucky. He stands at 6-foot-4, 251 pounds.
The potential diamond in the rough for defensive line coach Rodney Garner is Tennessee’s 13th commitment of the 2023 class, eighth defensive prospect and seventh highest rated addition for the Vols per 247 Sports composite rankings. Weathersby is considered to be the No. 64 defensive lineman in the country.
