Tennessee football is on a roll.
Just after notching a commitment from 4-star wide receiver Cameron Seldon on Thursday evening, the Vols have secured another 4-star commitment in 2023 offensive lineman Shamurad Umarov.
The 6-foot-6, 337-pound offensive tackle prospect hails from Denmark High School in Alpharetta, Georgia. The Vols outlasted home-state Georgia, Michigan State and LSU for his services.
Umarov has the size and athleticism to be an impact player for Tennessee in the future of the program, which has put together quite the 2023 recruiting class. The Vols rank within the top 7 in the 2023 recruiting class national rankings per 247 Sports.
Umarov is considered to be the No. 347 player in the cycle and the No. 31 offensive tackle in the nation per 247 Sports composite rankings. He is also rated as the No. 34 player from the state of Georgia.
Tennessee has done well outside the borders of the Volunteer State this go-around, with now five of its top six commitments originating from other states. Umarov represents Tennessee’s sixth highest commitment of the 2023 cycle, behind Nico Iamaleava, Caleb Herring, Ethan Davis, Cam Seldon and Sylvester Smith.
He joins three-star Mount Juliet, Tennessee native Ayden Bussell as the second offensive lineman listed for the Vols this recruitment cycle.
Lucas Simmons, another Vols OL target is set to commit to either Tennessee, USC, Florida or Florida State on July 11.
