Tennessee football is looking to add to its Class of 2024, extending an offer to Indiana-based wide receiver Brauntae Johnson, per Johnson’s personal Twitter account.
The Vols extended the offer after a flurry of early July commitments that included the No. 24 overall prospect in the class Jonathan Echols.
Johnson is rated as the No. 6 wide receiver in the class of 2024 and the No. 1 prospect from the state of Indiana. He was Fort Wayne Northside High School’s second leading receiver as just a freshman and is also a star basketball player, holding a D1 offer from Purdue Fort Wayne. Johnson stands at 6-foot-3, 170 pounds per 247 Sports.
He is starting to gain some momentum on the recruiting trail, collecting offers from Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Washington in recent months.
Tennessee is always looking for high upside prospects such as Johnson, who’s athleticism could allow him to play anywhere on the field – perhaps a solid fit at defensive back.
