Sunday ended up being a busy day in college football when two highly sought after prospects disclosed that they would announce their commitments this week.
Rico Walker, a 6-foot-3, 233-pound EDGE rusher from Hickory (N.C.) High School, was the latest to join the growing list of pending prospect announcements when he went public. Walker said he would announce his decision on Monday at 4 p.m. According to the report, Walker is down to Auburn, Florida, Maryland and Tennessee.
Receiver Nathan Leacock also announced that his final decision will become public this week. Leacock, who is a 6-foot-3, 200-pound receiver from Millbrook High School in Raleigh, N.C., will announce his decision on Friday at 3 p.m.
Walker is rated the No. 4 prospect in North Carolina, the 23rd best edge rusher in the nation and the overall No. 179 prospect in the country. While Tennessee appears to be in play, North Carolina may prove tough to beat.
