Winning with their religion? Tennessee breaks out some gospel music on Sunday

Perhaps “Third Down for What?” was taken. Tennessee’s football team decided against rock, rap or hip hop when it blared some gospel music during practice on Sunday morning, which was their first practice in full pads during preseason camp.

The tunes were nothing new for Tennessee’s preseason All SEC quarterback, Hendon Hooker. His roommate on road games, Tennessee tight end Jacob Warren, said he is always blaring gospel music each morning before every game.

Hooker has never hid his religion from fans. In fact, he was at SEC Media Days with his scripture comic book in hand, promoting his faith.

No word if Hooker completed a “Hail Mary” on Sunday.
