Week one is in the books, and it wasn’t pretty for LaFratta’s Locks or the bank account. Hopefully after seeing what teams are bringing to the table, week two will be a little more productive.
There are two upset alerts on the board for today:
South Carolina +8.5
South Carolina takes on Arkansas today, and honestly, Arkansas didn’t look that great against a Cincinnati team that lost a lot from its impressive 2021 team, including the QB, running back, and two dynamic cornerbacks. Arkansas had the opportunity to make a big statement last week and barely came out with a win. I’d take South Carolina on the money line, or at least +8.
Appalachian State +18
This Texas A&M team came out looking weak. If you didn’t watch the game, you probably didn’t notice the struggle coming from their QB. Clearly, A&M needs some work. With an App State team that can put up points, I don’t see the Aggies winning by 18.
Tennessee -6
I’m going against the grain on this one. However, Tennessee’s ability to score quickly leads me to believe that the Vols take advantage of Pitt’s weakened secondary. With big targets like Tillman and McCoy, I see Tennessee taking an early lead and winning by more than 6.
If you’re feeling frisky…
Kentucky +5.5
Florida’s victory over Utah was less impressive than it looked. Remember, preseason rankings are just opinions and mean nothing, but Utah beat themselves that game. Florida’s defense couldn’t stop much of anything, and Kentucky will take advantage of that. I see the Wildcats going into the Swamp and taking care of business.
