Tennessee target Tomarrion Parker had some strong words to describe his recent unofficial visit to Clemson. The 4-star, class of 2023 defensive lineman is a player that Vols head coach Josh Heupel has made a top priority since his de-commitment from Penn State. However, there’s plenty of competition, as there always is for a top prospect.
The 6-foot-4 250 pound defensive lineman from Phenix City (Ala.) made his first trip to Clemson in over a year this past weekend to watch the Tigers move to 2-0 with a win over Furman. Clemson obviously made a great impression on Parker.
“Ever since I stepped on campus for the very first time. I loved it,” Parker told ON3. “I love the people there. I love the tradition.”
Clemson, Florida and Tennessee remain the frontrunners to land Parker. Tennessee defensive line coach Rodney Garner could use a player like Parker in the SEC, a guy who can make an immediate impact.
Clemson also will have a need for defensive lineman very soon, something Parker says Clemson has reiterated to him.
“I definitely know I’m a big priority,” Parker told ON3. “Their biggest need is defensive line, defensive end-wise, I’m their biggest priority right now when it comes to that. I definitely left feeling the love that they showed and I definitely will be back.”
Parker is expected to be back in Clemson the weekend of Oct. 21st to watch the Tigers take on Syracuse. He also is planning on visiting Florida this fall.
Can Heupel pry Parker away from his love for Clemson? Parker will be in Knoxville the second weekend of October when the Volunteers host Alabama. Good impressions from the coaching staff and rowdy environment in Neyland Stadium may be just what it takes to sway the defensive lineman.
