Although this won’t be Tennessee’s biggest recruiting weekend this season, the Vols will still have some highly sought after recruits on campus this weekend.
Andrew Hines III
Tennessee will play host to an ESPN 300 prospect on Saturday. Linebacker/Athlete Hines III will be in Knoxville to watch the Volunteers take on Akron. Hines is a 2024 prospect.
Tennessee was among the first schools to offer the 6-foot-1 and 215-pound linebacker, after he attended a camp in June of 2021. Hines III was most recently on campus for a 7-on-7 camp this past June. He would be a big get for a team that is seeking depth on defense. Hines is from Woodward Academy in Atlanta, Ga.
Ransom McDermott
Three-star McDermott is another big name, and a big guy coming to Knoxville this weekend. The 6-foot-7 and 270-pound offensive lineman is someone Tennessee has been high on recently.
The class of 2024 offensive lineman is a prospect who can help Tennessee in the trenches, and it is no secret the Volunteers need help at the tackle position. McDermott attends Noblesville (Ind.) High School.
CB Smith Snowden
Tennessee extended a scholarship offer to the four-star cornerback out of Utah just last week. He is expected to be in Knoxville this weekend.
Snowden recently took a visit to BYU and watched their double-overtime upset against Baylor. The prospect from Skyridge High School in Lehi, Utah, seemed very pleased with his experience in Provo.
“What stood out to me was them beating a good Baylor team,” Snowden told 247sports. “The defensive backs room is very strong this year. They all play a big part of their defense and I think this game was just a glimpse of what they will be able to do in the Big 12.”
The 5-foot-10 and 175-pound athlete doubles as a track star, running a 10.57 100m dash.
OT Cole Skinner
Per Volquest, 2023 Temple-commit Skinner is visiting Knoxville this weekend. Although he has yet to receive an offer from the Volunteers, this weekend could change that for 6-foot-5 and 305-pound offensive tackle.
Again, it is no surprise that Tennessee is still after some linemen to try and beef up their 2023 recruiting class. It will be interesting if the Volunteers decide to offer the three-star following this weekend. Skinner is from Point Pleasant Beach (N.J.) High School.
