No one has to convince the organizers of the Reese’s Senior Bowl that Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker is worthy of Heisman Trophy consideration. They’re all on board. That why Hooker was named the game’s offensive player of the week on Monday.
Hooker completed 22-of-28 passes for 349 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-33 win over Florida on Saturday. He also ran for 112 yards and a touchdown.
Jim Nagy, who is the executive director of the annual event, shared this Twitter thread showcasing a trio of plays that Hooker made against the Gators.
Very next play, Hendon Hooker ID’s man-cover on outside and smartly attacks it. Great job by WR Ramel Keyton stacking CB and making full layout grab. @henhook2 has been aggressive taking downfield shots this year & pretty trajectory here letting Keyton run under it. 🧵 2/3 pic.twitter.com/X5cpgjKq7P

Now w/ 0:12 left 2Q, Hooker slings perfect ball to backside crosser to put @Vol_Football up 17-14 at half. Sequence is even more impressive considering he took field grimacing in pain at start of drive after big hit previous possession. Big-time performance by @henhook2! 🧵 3/3 pic.twitter.com/N16p2Eugwt
