LaFratta’s Locks: Week 5

No picks for last week due to illness, but today is a new day! There are some big games

Who will show up this week?

LSU vs. Auburn

This Auburn team is atrocious. Bryan Harsin is drowning while sharks are circling with no hope in sight. It’s not a matter of if, but when Harsin will be forced out. Harsin’s potential replacement is the most news-worthy story coming out of Auburn now. This year is over for them, while LSU continues to get better week by week. In the Tigers vs Tigers matchup, Brian Kelly makes the difference.

I’m taking LSU -8.

Kentucky vs. Ole Miss

There’s nothing more disrespectful than being named the opponent in a homecoming game, and not even Kiffin’s adorable dog is going to save him from this Kentucky team. The Wildcats bring back their star running back in Chris Rodriguez after an extended absence for off-the-field issues. Will Levis doesn’t hurt either, unless the Ole Miss camo unis work better than anyone thought.

I’m taking Kentucky +6.5

Georgia vs. Missouri

Like Auburn, this Missouri team is abysmal, and Stetson Bennett is out for blood after not throwing a single touchdown last week against Kent State. Mizzou has no answer for Georgia on offense OR defense, and that causes these Bulldogs to be more than a 28-point problem.

I’m taking Georgia -28 or -30 or -30.5 (wherever the line sits).

If you’re feeling frisky:

Texas A&M vs Mississippi State

Mississippi State is no joke and their loss to LSU may have more to do with the Tigers than the Bulldogs. Texas A&M finds ways to win or at least to keep it close. They’re battling and Mississippi State is coming off a loss that makes this game feel close. I think Mississippi State will win, but only by a field goal.

I’m taking Texas A&M +4.5.
