The No. 1 running back in the class of 2024 released his top 12 schools, and it seems Tennessee is making an impression on the young star.
Five-star Jerrick Gibson has released his top 12 schools he’s considering, and Tennessee made the cut. Florida, Alabama, and Georgia are also in Gibson’s top 12, among others.
Gibson first visited Tennessee in June after being extended a scholarship offer in March. Gibson was also on campus for the Volunteers’ historic win against Florida, which jolted Tennessee up on his list.
“I just wanted to get up there and take all the visits I can. They were talking to me a lot, and I just wanted to see it,” Gibson told Rivals247 following his first trip to Knoxville. “I mean, I knew it was going to be impressive, but not as good as it was when I went there. It shocked me how big the stadium was and how good the facility looked. … Of course, I’ll be there again.”
Gibson was committed to his hometown Florida Gators, before de-commiting and reopening his recruitment in February.
Gibson currently attends powerhouse IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. The 5-foot-10 and 200-pound running back moves exceptionally well, running a 4.5 second 40-yard dash. He also has a 41-inch vertical jump.
As we wrap up the class of 2023 and move into the class of 2024 recruiting cycle, Gibson will be a name to follow for Tennessee fans.
