Tennessee coach Josh Heupel addressed two absences that occurred during the LSU during his weekly press conference on Monday.

“He just wasn’t available,” Heupel said when asked about left tackle Gerald Mincey. “We anticipate him being ready to play in this one.”

Heupel didn’t specify why Mincey didn’t play, but a representative from Tennessee’s athletic department said the absence was injury related.

The Vols would certainly like to have Cedric Tillman back for the Alabama game. The preseason All-SEC, second-team receiver has been sidelined since undergoing a procedure on his ankle, which was injured during the Akron game.

“Cedric is doing good,” Heupel said. “This is part of the reason he had the surgery it to try to be back by this one. He’s continuing to progress over the weekend. We’ll monitor him. Like I said last week, our medical team and Cedric will make the right decision for him now and in the future too.”
