As the hype around Tennessee’s matchup with Alabama grows, recruits are beginning to announce their plans to visit for the big game.
Class of 2025 prospect Gideon Davidson announced his plans to be on campus this weekend.
Davidson is rated as the No. 1 running back in the class of 2025 by Rivals247. He has yet to be rated on Rivals247 Composite.
The 6-foot, 193-pound prospect was extended a scholarship offer from Tennessee in April, the same day as his first trip to Knoxville.
Davidson has taken visits to Ohio State and Clemson thus far, raving about both environments on social media. He also visited hometown Liberty, but Davidson will likely be a power-5 running back.
Davidson attends Liberty Christian Academy in Lynchburg, VA. He tallied 1,241 yards on 112 carries, averaging a whopping 11 yards per carry, in his freshman season. He finished 2021 with 19 touchdowns, and he helped lead LCA to a 13-1 record and a state championship appearance.
LCA has a 5-0 record so far this season.
Davidson is not only an effective back between the tackles, but also in the passing game. Davidson returns kicks for LCA, with much success in the return game. He also doubles as a safety for LCA.
The Tennessee target has some serious speed as well. He runs track for LCA, and clocked a 10.69 second 100-meter dash.
The Volunteers had an impressive weekend running the ball in Baton Rouge, gathering 263 yards on the ground. Tennessee looks to continue its dominant season as they welcome No. 3 Alabama to Knoxville.
The explosive running back is early on in his recruiting process, but Tennessee has a chance to make a great impression this weekend by putting on another dominant performance against Alabama.
