You may have seen the reports on social media, especially Twitter. To paraphrase, Tennessee was already preparing for a potential Alabama upset by having new goalposts fabricated to replace the ones that would likely be torn down if the Vols upset the Crimson Tide.
Alas, that is not the case. A possibly perturbed employee who answered the phone at Frazier Welding in Knoxville told Off the Hook Sports that no order had been placed by the University of Tennessee for replacement goalposts and that talk of such is just a rumor.
Frazier Welding in Knoxville was given the order this morning to fabricate 2 field goal post for Neyland Stadium with the anticipation of Tennessee upsetting Alabama.

Tennessee could actually need new goalposts if the Vols beat Alabama. Alabama is a 7 1/2-point favorite and hasn’t beaten Alabama since 2006.

True. I thought it was funny.
The story reported that Tennessee is a 7 1/2 point favorite over Alabama. I think that was a misprint considering who they are playing.
Who’s laughing now???? We did win. And The posts will be up if Peyton Manning has to weld them himself. Go Vols!! #VFL
