Just when you thought the hype couldn’t get any bigger for the Tennessee-Alabama game, ESPN announced that one of Tennessee’s most beloved all-time players will be the guest picker for College GameDay.

Known for his success against Alabama, former Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning will be alongside Rece Davis and Kirk Herbstreit as the most renowned pregame show in college football broadcasts live from Ayers Hall on the University of Tennessee campus.

Manning broke a nine-game winless streak against Alabama in 1995, beating the Crimson Tide 41-14. It was the first of three consecutive victories for Manning against Alabama and the first of seven consecutive victories that Tennessee posted over Bama, which has not lost a game to the Vols in the annual rivalry since 2006.

Manning won’t be playing on Saturday when the Vols take on the Crimson Tide at 3:30 EST, but having an NFL Hall of Famer who is known for beating Bama on their side can’t hurt the Vols’ chances.
