Tennessee’s victory over Alabama is not just important in its hunt for a playoff spot. Recruiting will also benefit from the 52-49 victory over the Crimson Tide.

The Volunteer’s hosted almost 70 prospects in Neyland Stadium on Saturday night.

Head coach Josh Heupel spoke about the importance of the weekend in recruiting during his weekly press conference on Monday.

“There was a lot of recruiting (on Saturday), long celebration in the locker room as there should be after a win like that,” Heupel said. “Opportunity on the back end of that to do a bunch of recruiting. There was a great amount of guys that were here. That’s important for the future of our program.”

Heupel and his staff made an impression on a lot of the prospects, especially those from Tennessee.

Following Saturday, Tennessee received “crystal ball” projections to land a couple of in-state 2024 prospects.

Four-star prospect Boo Carter received a “crystal ball” from Steve Wiltfrong of Rivals247, projecting him to commit to the Volunteers. At 5-foot-10 and 184-pounds, Carter is ranked as the No. 4 prospect in Tennessee in the class of 2024.

The in-state prospect has been a priority for Heupel and his staff. Back in September, Heupel and secondary coach Willie Martinez visited Chattanooga Christian School to visit with Carter.

CCS traveled to Knoxville on Friday to face Grace Chirstian Academy. Carter and CCS defeated the Rams 62-14. Carter was sporting Tennessee gear on the way to the win.

Carter was extended a scholarship offer from Tennessee in May.

Defensive back Kaleb Beasley also received a “crystal ball” prediction from Wiltfrong, projecting he will commit to Tennessee. The 6-foot and 179-pound defensive back is ranked as the No. 3 prospect in the class of 2024.

Beasley attends Lipscomb Academy in Nashville. He was extended a scholarship offer from Tennessee in April.
