Tennessee made a great impression on one class of 2024 prospect in their rout of UT-Martin.
Although there weren’t as many prospects in attendance as the week before when the Vols beat Alabama, defensive back Ify Obidegwu was in attendance for the Tennessee game on Saturday and came away even more impressed with the Volunteers.
“Right now, in my mind, they currently stand at number one. Before the visit, they were already my number one. And, after the visit, it just confirmed it, Obidegwu told Ryan Callahan of Rivals247. “What made it so good was the fan base and the atmosphere was just insane. The coaches were all so genuine and high-energy. The way they treated me and my family was out of this world.”
Obidegwu is ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 18 cornerback in the class of 2024. The 6-foot-1 and 185-pound prospect attends St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, MD. Despite the Vols’ 7-0 record, UT could still use some help in the defensive backfield.
Obidegwu was extended a scholarship offer from Tennessee in August. He has been gaining a lot of attention recently, picking up offers from Michigan State and Oregon just this month.
Josh Heupel’s staff has obviously made a great impression on the young prospect. Time will tell if it will pay off.
