Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel admitted that he was uncertain how to proceed when the Vols were in scoring position in the waning seconds of the game in a 66-24 win over Missouri on Saturday. Instead of taking a knee, the Vols scored, leading 59-24, with a two-yard run by Dylan Sampson with :36 left on the clock.

“For us, at the end of the day, our twos were in the football game when the ball went down to the one-yard line or whatever it was,” Heupel said during his weekly press conference on Monday. “Absolutely went through my mind. I don’t know what the right thing to do is at that moment. At the end of the day, I let our guys continue to play football.”

The Vols are No. 5 in the College Football Playoff rankings, meaning the extra points could have an effect on their new rankings, which come out on Tuesday. The Vols play at South Carolina on Saturday.
