A Knoxville prospect reopened his recruitment on Sunday.
Three-star prospect Ayden Greene out of Powell (Tenn.) High School decommitted from Cincinnati. He announced his decision on Twitter.
“I wanna thank the University of Cincinnati for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be apart of the bearcat family,” Greene wrote. “Thank you to Coach Brown for recruiting me and pushing me to becoming the best young man possible. With that being said I have decided to de-commit from the University of Cincinnati to explore my options. MY RECRUITMENT IS 100% OPEN”
Greene’s decomittment comes amid the reports that Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell is leaving for Wisconsin.
The wide receiver holds a scholarship offer from Tennessee. The Vols extended the 6-0.5 foot and 167-pound prospect a scholarship offer in March of 2021. Greene camped with the Volunteers that summer as well.
Greene finished his senior season with 66 catches for 1,127 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also picked up 39 tackles and three interceptions on the defensive side.
Greene played a major part in Powell’s state championship run a season ago.
He ranks as the No. 62 wide receiver in the class of 2023 and the No. 14 prospect in the state of Tennessee.
