Two more Tennessee offensive players have declared that they intend to enter the transfer portal when it opens on Dec. 5th according to a report by On3.
Running backs Justin Williams-Thomas and Len’Neth Whitehead have both entered the portal to evaluate their options. Whitehead was expected to have a big impact for the Vols this season before suffering a preseason injury. Williams-Thomas was one of the Vols’ highest regarded prospects in the 2022 class, but never seemed to settle into his position. Williams-Thomas received some praise for his powerful running style, but never worked his way into the rotation. Meanwhile, fellow freshman running back Dylan Sampson had a significant impact with on the team with his speedy running style.
Whitehead was expected to be a significant player for the Vols before his injury. Players that enter the transfer portal can return to their initial colleges, but the school doesn’t have to hold a scholarship from them.
Early on Wednesday, Tennessee receivers Jimmy Calloway and Jimmy Holiday to the transfer portal. More transfer portal news should continue throughout the coming days. The Vols figure to be a strong player in the transfer portal and could bring in a number of offensive players.
