Class of 2025 prospect Sharmar Arnoux is expected to announce his college commitment on Friday. He is fresh off of a visit to Tennessee football, which would certainly seem like a good thing for the Volunteers
Arnoux’s top schools consist of Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Michigan, Tennessee, LSU, Texas A&M and Ole Miss. The Vols received a crystal ball prediction to UT from Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.
“I liked the coaching staff, the community, and the facility,” Arnoux told Off The Hook following his visit.
As a cornerback, Arnoux got to watch the Vols defensive back room and how they go through practice.
“I’m a versatile corner, so wherever they need me to go on the field that’s what I’m going to do to play,” Arnoux said.
Arnoux has formed a solid relationship with Tennessee football cornerback coach Willie Martinez, and the two got to catch up at his visit.
“He’s a good dude,” Arnoux said. “He doesn’t just talk about football but he just gets an understanding of my personality and his.”
Arnoux also got to spend some time with head coach Josh Heupel during his visit. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound corner came away impressed with the coach.
“Definitely a good respected dude,” Arnoux said. “And, I can’t say too much. It’s self explanatory – he has the No. 1 offense in the country.”
Tennessee told Arnoux they hope to use him in different positions on the defensive side, and utilize his versatility. In a defensive back room that struggled in 2022 and is looking to make a jump in future seasons, Arnoux will definitely be utilized all over the secondary.
The corner out of Milton High School in Alpharetta, Georgia got the chance to attend the Vols contest with Kentucky in 2022. The environment was like no other, he said.
“It’s like, I don’t think anybody else’s intensity is up with Neyland Stadium,” Arnoux said. “It’s the best.”
Arnoux will be on campus over the summer and he will likely be up for games in the fall as well. He ranks as a top-200 prospect nationally by On3.
As he narrows his recruiting process, he feels secure in the decision he will make on Friday.
“I finally found a team that I wanted to be committed to 100-percent for four years in college,” Arnoux said. “And I just went for it. I don’t care about what everybody else got to say about it, I just went for it. I know people probably saying ‘it’s crazy’ because it’s real early. I’m here to make a statement.”
