As prospects begin to wind down their recruitment, Tennessee football has found itself in several athletes’ top schools. Robby Martin joined that group on Friday.
The three-star offensive lineman included Miami, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, NC State, Maryland, Illinois and Penn State as well as Tennessee in his top schools.
The Vols extended Martin a scholarship offer in June 2022. He currently holds over 25 offers, including an offer from all of his top schools.
The offensive lineman, who ranks as the No. 32 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 class, has locked in official visits with Penn State and NC State. Both schools currently seem to be the front-runners for Martin’s talents.
Martin has visited Penn State multiple times while he hasn’t taken a trip to NC State yet. He has visited Tennessee once, attending the Vols’ blowout victory over Akron.
Martin sits as the No. 1 player from West Virginia. The home-state Mountaineers, just over three hours away from Martin’s Huntington High School, also have extended an offer to Martin. He is set to visit West Virginia, officially, sometime in June. To no surprise, the home-state school has received the most visits from Martin.
“They have great coaches and they have treated me really good,” Martin told 247Sports. “I feel it’s a great program.”
His most recent offer also came from an in-state school in Virginia Tech. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound offensive lineman hasn’t taken a trip to Blacksburg yet.
Tennessee’s 2024 class is comprised of four-star quarterback Jake Merklinger, four-star athlete Johnathan Echols, four-star wide receiver JJ Harrell, four-star cornerback Kaleb Beasley, four-star EDGE Kellen Lindstrom, four-star cornerback Marcus Goree Jr. and three-star defensive linemen Carson Gentle and Jeremias Heards along with three-star offensive linemen Gage Ginther and Jesse Perry.
The momentum is picking up for Heupel and his group heading into the summer.
