Tennessee football remains in a good position to land class of 2025 five-star quarterback George MacIntyre, with his commitment imminent.
MacIntyre’s top schools consist of the Vols, LSU and Alabama. Tennessee seems like the most likely option for the 6-foot-5.5 and 182-pound quarterback.
LSU recently landed the No. 1 quarterback in the 2025 cycle, Bryce Underwood. That likely makes LSU a non-factor for MacIntyre, the No. 3 QB by 247Sports Composite, as his recruitment comes down the stretch. The Composite also has MacIntyre as a five-star prospect and the No. 15 overall prospect in the class.
As for Alabama, Nick Saban’s retirement likely changes the way the five-star QB views the Crimson Tide. Although the new staff has offered MacIntyre, Saban was a big draw.
Both of those events leave Tennessee as the likely suitor for MacIntyre. Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports put in a crystal ball for MacIntyre to end up a Vol. On3’s recruitment service also shows MacIntyre trending toward Tennessee as well.
MacIntyre led Brentwood Academy to the 2022 state semifinals by throwing for 2,341 yards and 19 touchdowns. He ended his junior season in 2023 with 3,229 yards and 28 total touchdowns for Brentwood Academy.
MacIntyre comes from a football family with his late grandfather being the former Vanderbilt head coach. His uncle is the current head coach at FIU.
The quarterback has also picked up some offers on the hardwood as well, showcasing his athleticism.
