A pair of Tennessee football signees rose in recruiting updates by On3. Peyton Lewis and Jordan Ross both saw rises in the final rankings.
Ross was previously one of the highest-rated four-star prospects by On3. After the updates, he moves up to a five-star prospect by the recruiting service.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound edge rusher ranks as the No. 7 prospect nationally by On3 and the No. 1 edge rusher in the class. He is also the No. 2 prospect from Alabama out of Vestavia Hills in Birmingham.
One of the highest-ranked prospects in Tennessee’s 2024 class, five-star Ross ranks as the No. 33 prospect overall and the No. 3 EDGE in the 2024 class by 247Sports Composite. The 6-foot-4.5 and 233-pound pass rusher will likely have to add size before seeing extended playing time. Ross caused havoc at the Polynesian Bowl practices, receiving lots of praise. 247Sports raved about Ross’ physicality and his strong build during the practices ahead of the game, where he registered a sack and several big hits on five-star QB Dylan Raiola.
Another riser in the new On3 updated rankings was Peyton Lewis. Lewis rose 64 spots to the No. 67 prospect in the country. He is also the No. 4 running back and the No. 2 prospect from Virginia based on the On3 rankings. He is from Salem, Virginia.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound running back committed to Tennessee over South Carolina and Virginia Tech. He is also a 100-meter dash state champion and a versatile running back out of the backfield.
Where Tennessee football’s 2024 class ranks
On3 ranks Tennessee’s 2024 class as No. 12 in the nation after their updates. The class ranks No. 8 in the SEC including Texas and Oklahoma. On3 gives the class a score of 91.57 with a 57% blue chip ratio.
247Sports ranks Tennessee’s 2024 class as the No. 11 class overall and No. 13 in the composite rankings. Tennessee is also the sixth SEC team in the 247Sports rankings, including Texas. The 2024 class also has the highest average rating since before 2010.
Rivals ranks Tennessee’s 2024 class as the No. 14 class in the nation. They also give the class and average star rating of 3.65.
