I’m well aware that stereotyping can be flat-out stupid and, often times, flat-out wrong. However, my experiences give me reason to believe that Tennessee’s newest commitment will be something special despite his average recruiting ranking.`

Yes, I’m talking about Antoni Kade Ogumoro, the three-star interior offensive lineman that committed to the Vols this week. The 6-foot-5, 290-pound prospect was also considering Oklahoma and Kansas State. 

Now, before we get started, let’s get something clear. I understand that Ogumoro is Micronesian, not Polynesian. I provided a map to illustrate the difference, which is basically just a few miles and a few waves away. Despite the slight difference in geography, I’d give Ogomoro another recruiting star just from being from the area.

I have never covered a group of players from an area or with a similar background that are any tougher, play with more heart and take pride in their family more than players from that area – in 25 years. That includes one very emotional departure when a Polynesian player was accused of spitting on someone. There’s also more.
