Tennessee football recruiting has hit high gear with several potential Vols on campus over the weekend. Here is where the Vols stand for four of its most important prospects.
Rodney Colton Jr.
A four-star athlete prospect from Newnan (Ga.) High School, told On3 that a budding relationship with Tennessee linebacker coach William Inge is at the heart of his recruitment.
“He talked to me about the five coverages,” Colton said. “Hook, curl, curl flat, man. He was running me through that. He put us in the film room and we watched that to show what the ‘backers do here.”
Colton said the Vols are firmly in his top five. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound prospect recently de-committed from South Carolina after a visit from Ole Miss. His recruitment appears to be opening up.
Anthony Jones
A four-star EDGE rusher from Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, Calif., said Tennessee is “probably my No. 1 school right now,” per GoVols247.
“This was one of my first times actually being able to see the campus,” the 6-5, 240-pound prospect said. “I really got to speak with Heupel one-on-one for the first time and that was pretty nice. We just talked about how he sees his program on an upward trend and just the values he sets and the standards he sets for his players.”
Keyshawn Stancil
A four-star defensive lineman from Clayton (N.C.) High School, said he visited Knoxville this weekend to further his relationship with Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and defensive line coach Rodney Garner.
“It’s really good,” the 6-3, 260-pound prospect told On3. “We talk almost every other day on the phone. Just being able to come back and connect with him physically and see him physically is great to do so. He keeps it real. He is big on development. He has a lot of knowledge in the game. He is like in year 36 or 35 deep in the game so just being able to be with a coach that is that deep in the game is good.”
Grant Wise
A four-star offensive lineman from Pace (Fla.) High School told GoVols247 that Tennessee is “definitely” one of his top schools and that he plans to be back on campus in Knoxville for an official visit. Wise, who is 6-3 and 210 pounds, has been to Tennessee three times since June, including a trip to see the Vols win over Alabama last season.
“We talked about some of their calls and their language and how they ID stuff, and a lot of the stuff they do in the O-line room,” Wise told Govols247. “We talked about some of the guys that they have and how they’re looking in the future and how they see me fitting in their program.”
Wise has received over 30 scholarship offers and is expected to be one of the most coveted prospects in the 2026 class.
