Coming off a road win against the Oklahoma Sooners, Tennessee Basketball puts its three-game winning streak on the line Tuesday night against the last team to beat them. The Vols, ranked No. 5 in the AP Poll and No. 4 in the Coaches Poll, will travel to Rupp Arena to take on the Kentucky Wildcats.
Kentucky, ranked No. 15 in the AP Poll and No. 18 in the Coaches Poll, snapped a two-game losing streak Saturday with an 80-57 win over the South Carolina Gamecocks. Under first-year head coach Mark Pope, they are currently 16-7 overall and 5-5 in SEC play.
Two weeks ago to the date, Tennessee, who is 20-4 overall and 7-4 in SEC play, lost at home to UK 78-73. Rick Barnes’ team will be looking for revenge and a second straight road win. Here is all the information you need for Tuesday night’s matchup between the two schools.

In their first meeting, the Vols allowed Kentucky to shoot 12-of-24 from outside while they shot an abysmal 11-of-45. However, the following Saturday, without Zakai Zeigler and Igor Milicic Jr., UT scored a top five win over the Florida Gators, beating them by 20 at home after losing to them by 30 in Gainesville in early January.
On the other side, the Wildcats seemed to go in the opposite direction after that win, as they lost at home to the Arkansas Razorbacks and former head coach John Calipari before going on the road and losing to the Ole Miss Rebels. Such has been life in the brutal SEC this year.
After this game, Kentucky will visit the Texas Longhorns on Saturday. Tennessee will have its first home SEC game against an unranked team that same day when they welcome the Vanderbilt Commodores to town, which will be another revenge matchup for them.
