Tennessee Football target Bennett Warren has set his commitment date. The four-star offensive lineman will make his college decision on July 31.
Warren will choose between Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Michigan. He holds scholarship offers from over 30 schools.
āIām looking for a place where I feel most at home, where I can be myself but also get good work in and get to pursue my goals,ā Warren told Off The Hook in the spring.
Warren ranks as the No. 143 prospect nationally by 247Sports Composite. He also ranks as the No. 8 offensive tackle in his class. Out of Fort Bend Christian Academy in Sugarland, Texas, he is the No. 23 prospect out of the Lonestar state.
Tennessee provides an amazing environment for college football and also has a recent history of producing great offensive linemen,” Warren told On3.
The 6-foot-7.5, 330-pound offensive lineman took an official visit to Tennessee on June 23. He also took officials to Oklahoma, Michigan and Texas A&M. During his junior season, Warren mainly played right tackle on the way to a state championship.
Several crystal balls have been put in for Warren. Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports and two Michigan writers project the talented lineman will go to Michigan, while there is a lone crystal ball that projects Warren will become an Aggie. Despite not having a crystal ball, the Vols are still viewed as one of the top contenders for Warren.
The need for offensive linemen, especially in the 2024 class, has led Josh Heupel and his staff to prioritize Warren throughout his recruitment. The Vols extended Warren a scholarship offer in January. While it seems like a late offer, only Texas A&M and Oklahoma, of his top schools, extended Warren a scholarship offer before the Vols.
Warrens’ recruitment took off late, but it sure has taken off. Tennessee was his last official visit, and his announcement on July 31 will tell if the Vols made a big enough impression.
Warren would join a 2024 class for the Vols is currently comprised of five-star wide receiver Mike Matthews, four-star quarterback Jake Merklinger, four-star athlete Johnathan Echols, four-star cornerback Kaleb Beasley, four-star linebacker Edwin Spillman, four-star Peyton Lewis, four-star offensive lineman Max Anderson, four-star offensive lineman William Satterwhite four-star athlete Boo Carter, four-star defensive lineman Kellen Lindstrom, four-star linebacker Jordan Burns four-star athlete Marcus Goree Jr. and three-star defensive linemen Carson Gentle and Jeremais Heard along with three-star offensive linemen Gage Ginther and Jessee Perry and three-star safety Edress Farooq.
