Given how inconsistent Alabama has been all year, it’s impossible to predict what they’ll do in the process of winning on a week-to-week basis. Tennessee Football is a lot more predictable, but how will that play out on Saturday? Let’s break that down with the five best prop bets to make between the Vols and the Crimson Tide.
5. Jalen Milroe UNDER 228.5 passing yards
Again, bets on Alabama are difficult to make. However, given the way the Vols’ pass defense has performed in recent weeks, and given their pass rush, Jalen Milroe will have a hard time throwing for a lot of yards. He’ll likely be under too much pressure for many of those deep shots to hit, so take the under here.
4. First quarter OVER 9.5
This will be a defensive struggle…except for the first quarter. Typically, teams spend that quarter figuring out each other, and it usually ends in a score like 7-3 or 7-7. That’ll be the case in this one. Now, there may be no more touchdowns the rest of the way, but take the over at least for the first quarter.
3. Joe Milton III UNDER 197.5 passing yards
Although Joe Milton III threw for 239 yards against the South Carolina Gamecocks, he had 100 yards last week, and Alabama’s defense is just as good. Given the communication issues Tennessee Football has had on the road dating back to last year, it’s hard to see Milton stepping his game up this weekend. Take the under.
2. Jaylen Wright OVER 62.5 rushing yards
Emerging as a superstar for the Vols, Jaylen Wright torched both South Carolina and the Texas A&M Aggies on the ground. He may not torch Alabama, but Josh Heupel’s commitment to the run game means he’ll see a lot of touches, so it’s hard to see him failing to go over 62.5 yards on the ground.
1. Joe Milton III OVER 0.5 passing TDs
Yes, Milton has issues, and yes, Tennessee Football is likely to struggle offensively in this game. However, even in his worst outings, including last week, Milton has thrown at least one touchdown pass. In fact, he’s thrown a TD in every game he’s started for the Vols except 2021 against the Pittsburgh Panthers, when he left the game in the first half.
