Friendships, especially among teammates, can be a great influencer when it comes to making important life decisions… decisions like, “where do I go to college?” It certainly could be a deciding factor for star offensive lineman Leo Delaney.

The high school junior currently plays ball with possibly the highest touted recruit of the 2025 class, David Sanders Jr. Sanders, a five-star offensive tackle, announced his commitment to Tennessee in August. North Carolina loves the Vols

Delaney, like Sanders, hails from Charlotte, N.C. and attends the Providence Day School. He’s a two-way player, taking snaps at offensive tackle and defensive end. He was a MaxPreps 1st team All American. Delaney is also skilled in Jeet Kune Do, holding a black belt in the hybrid martial art created by the legendary Bruce Lee. “It’s huge (North Carolina),” Coach Josh Heupel said recently on Vol Calls. “Historically when Tennessee is good, they are recruiting well in North Carolina. We have been intentional in building relationships over there. We are starting to get guys from that area. There is really good football and really good athletes there.”
