Tennessee DT Omari Thomas apparently pushes fan down in Arkansas aftermath after Vols lose to Razorbacks

Tennessee’s loss to Arkansas was bad enough. The apparent reaction to the Razorbacks’ fans storming the field was even worse.

Arkansas beat the Vols 19-14 in a double-digit upset over Tennessee, which was ranked No. 4 in the country heading into the matchup in Fayetteville, Ark.

As has become all too customary, fans stormed the field following the win. One fan seemed to run through Tennessee’s team as it was exiting the field.

As the fan made his way through the fracas, he was then pushed in the back by Tennessee defensive tackle Omari Thomas, per the following post on X. The fan fell to the ground and, in doing so, took a female fan down with him.

This isn’t the first time in which Tennessee has been at the center of a field-charging incident. Following the Vols’ win over Alabama in 2022, Crimson Tide receiver Jermaine Burton appeared to push or strike a woman following the Vols’ 52-49 victory in Neyland Stadium.

Arkansas likely will face a fine for its fans charging the field. However, there has been no other measures that have proven adept at keeping fans from charging various fields after big wins. Vanderbilt’s fans charged the field after the Commodores upset Alabama, which was ranked No. 1 in the nation, on Saturday.

Thomas, who has represented Tennessee twice at SEC Media Days, is considered on of the Vols’ best leaders. Tennessee officials could not be immediately reached for comment.
