Alabama seems to be getting healthier at the wrong time for Tennessee.
Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer listed receivers Kendrick Law and Kobe Prentice as “probable” for the Tennessee game. Both had missed time in recent weeks in Bama’s surprising loss to Vanderbilt and the Crimson Tide’s rather unimpressive 27-25 win over South Carolina.
Prentice suffered a head injury in the loss to Vanderbilt and missed the South Carolina game. Law had been dealing with a lower-leg injury that has sidelined him since the Georgia game. Alabama cornerback Domani Jones was also listed as probable. He left the game against South Carolina, but returned to make the game-sealing interception for the Crimson Tide.
Bama linebacker Yhonzae Pierre is listed as questionable for the Tennessee game. The redshirt freshman played in the Crimson Tide’s first five games of the season, logging two tackles and two pass breakups, but missed the South Carolina game last week.
“He would still be up in the air right now,’ Deboer said Wednesday during the SEC teleconference. “Probably probable to questionable. Somewhere in there.”
Tennessee certainly has their own injury issues headed into the game, namely at offensive tackle.
No. 11 Tennessee plays No. 7 Alabama at 3:30 EST on Saturday in Neyland Stadium. The Crimson Tide is considered a 1.5-favorite over the Vols. Both teams are 5-1 meaning a loss would most likely end either teams hopes of make the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff.
