The wait is almost over for one of Tennessee’s most sought after prospects.
Receiver Carnell Tate announced on Saturday that he will make his college decision public on Monday at 1 p.m. via his social media accounts. Tennessee, LSU, Notre Dame and Ohio State were the four schools that Tate cited on the graphic display he utilized on Twitter and Instagram. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect from Bradenton, Fla., is thought to be leaning towards the Vols and Buckeyes.
Tate would be a huge pickup for any of those schools. He would certainly fit into Tennessee coach Josh Heupel’s continued plans as the Vols establish themselves as one of the top offensive teams in the nation. Tate is rated the No. 28 prospect in the nation, the third-best receiving prospect in the nation and the seventh best prospect in Florida.
Why is the time right now? Tate actually said he was ready to announce his decision earlier this month but had to find a videographer for his annoucement video.
Tennessee currently ranks No. 14 in the nation in recruiting. The Vols rank third in the SEC, behind Georgia and Arkansas.
