Wilky Denaud’s recruiting journey is about to come to an end.
The 6-foot-4, 245-pound prospect from John Carroll High School in Fort Pierce, Fla., named his four finalists and announcement date via Twitter on Monday. Denaud is considering Auburn, Florida State, Indiana and Tennessee. He is set to declare his intentions publicly on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
Most seem to think that Denaud is primarily considering Auburn and Florida State. However, the four-star prospect would be a huge pickup for the Vols if he surprises the many analysts who predict he will stay south.
Denaud is a bit of an old-school anomaly. He took his official visits last fall to each of his final schools. Most prospects have chosen to wait to take their official visits until the summer before their senior season. It’s worth noting that Denaud took a second, unofficial visit to Auburn. However, the Tigers tenuous coaching situation sheds new light on playing college football in Auburn.
The Vols have the second rated class in the SEC and the No. 7 class in the nation. Tennessee currently has 19 commitments for the 2023 class.
