Tennessee fans haven’t had the best run in the last decade and a half, so it’s no surprise that many are hesitant to even hope for a brighter future under Josh Heupel. Let’s face it, they’re waiting for the other shoe to fall. Whether that’s an injury to an irreplaceable leader, an off-field issue with a player, or an unforeseen departure of a coach, Vol fans are used to the disappointment. However, this season seems to favor Tennessee, and this coach seems to be the right fit (really this time). It no longer feels like it’s just hype.
A good sign that the Vols are trending in the right direction is the confidence from gambling experts. DraftKings has released their first round of college football betting odds for the 2022 season and the most anticipated game for Vol fans is already in the books.
After only winning one matchup in the last 15 years, Tennessee is predicted to beat Florida this season. Draft Kings Sportsbook has Tennessee listed as 5.5-point favorites over the Gators. That game is set to take place on September 24thin Neyland Stadium. Tickets are selling for no less than $120 for seats in the upper deck.
Needless to say, tickets will only get more expensive from here and why shouldn’t they? There will be no stopping Tennessee fans if/when they finally beat Florida at home. It’ll be a much needed boost to Vol Nation and one that those who bet on football is expecting.
