Just when you thought you had seen it all in college football recruiting, Twitter produces an inexplicable post that will have fan bases talking throughout the nation.
I’m sure you recall Carnell Tate, correct? In case you don’t remember, Tate is a four-star receiver from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound recruit is considered the No. 20 prospect in the nation. To Tennessee’s dismay, Tate committed to Ohio State in June over the Vols.
Then there’s this:
For those that struggle to see colors, that’s not Scarlet and Grey that Tate is wearing. It appears Tate, who is still considered a “hard” commitment to to Ohio State by most national media, hasn’t forgotten about his days in orange.
As Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel alluded to on Monday during his weekly press conference, the Vols will have some extra time to recruit this weekend since they play Ball State on Thursday. It might be a good idea to visit Tate.
Of course, this could be all for naught. This might just be the only picture that Tate had handy and a pure coincidence. Nevertheless, it’s worth looking into.
