Tennessee coach Josh Heupel wasn’t about to break protocol and share any insight into the Vols’ injury situation, despite a report that one of his best players might not play against Florida.
“All those guys that were knicked up last week, those guys, we’re going to find out here in the next couple of days where they’re at and their availability for the game,” Heupel said. “Hopeful with all of them.”
WBIR wasn’t as hopeful. The television station reported that Tennessee receiver Cedric Tillman was “highly questionable” for the Florida game and “extremely unlikely” to be able to play against the Gators.
Tillman isn’t the only player that was banged up against Akron on Saturday. Tennessee running backs Jabari Small and Dylan Sampson left the game against the Zips with what appeared to be a bum shoulder and ankle, respectively.
No. 11 Tennessee plays No. 20 Florida at 3:30 pm on Saturday. The Vols are 11-point favorites in the SEC East rivalry.
