Tennessee football is building on its momentum in the 2024 recruiting cycle. Despite things slowing down as the February dead period begins, the Vols had some good news on Tuesday.
Jeremiah Beasley released his top five schools on Twitter, including Tennessee football among Pittsburgh, Kentucky, Michigan and Michigan State.
Beasley also set his commitment date for March 15. He currently ranks as a four-star prospect and the No. 20 linebacker in his class.
The Michigan schools have made a strong push for Beasley. Hailing from Belleville High School, he has frequented both Ann Arbor and East Lansing. He’s visited the schools a combined nine times.
Every “crystal ball” projection on 247Sports points towards Beasley heading to Michigan State. The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder will be tough to lure south.
Beasley made a trip to Knoxville last summer. Tennessee football, following the 2022 season, clearly has a need for help on the defensive side of the ball. Beasley ranks as the No. 6 prospect out of Michigan.
He is also recently coming off a junior day visit to Penn State. Despite not including Penn State among his top school, he received and offer from the Nittany Lion following the visit.
It seems the top five schools listed in Beasley’s graphic may not be the only ones. He followed up his tweet with a cryptic one.
Penn State could be one of the two schools not included, but it will be something to watch as Beasley approaches his commitment date.
Although early in the cycle, the Vols already have three commitments in their 2024 class. The class currently consists of four-star athlete Johnathan Echols, four-star cornerback Kaleb Beasley, and three-star defensive lineman Carson Gentle.
Tennessee’s 2024 class currently sits at No. 16. Coming off a top 10 class in 2023, they’ll obviously be looking to improve that dramatically in the coming months. After an 11-2 campaign in 2022, things should be a lot easier on the trail this summer.
