Following the Vols’ final junior day, Tennessee football seemed to make headway with Jordan Marshall.

The four-star running back released his top four schools on Thursday, including Tennessee in the mix. He also included Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

After visiting Knoxville in the fall, Marshall returned to campus for the Vols’ junior day. He came away impressed with Tennessee and in particular the coaching staff.

The four-star also went to Wisconsin’s junior day ahead of the February dead period.

Wisconsin seems to be also trending in the right direction for Marshall. Luke Fickell, who recently took over as head coach of the Badgers, gave Marshall his first offer when he was head coach of Cincinnati. The two have remained close, and the Badgers have a strong history of creating NFL running backs.

Marshall has risen on many teams’ boards, and Tennessee football is no exception. The running back ranks as the No. 8 ball carrier in his class. He also sits as the No. 105 player in the country.

Out of Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, the 5-foot-11 and 193-pounder won Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year and was a MaxPreps Junior All-American. He rushed for 1,961 yards and 30 touchdowns this fall while also hauling in four touchdowns through the air.

“They’re dominant, they’re not scared,” Marshall said about Tennessee football to On3. “What they did to Alabama and just watching them over their season, they really could be fighting for a national championship these next few years with Nico (Iamaleava) going there, a whole bunch of guys. Coach Heupel is doing a great job there, and I just love his laid-back personality. It’s not always football with him. We can talk about different stuff. And then getting to know coach Mack and the rest of the coaching staff a little bit more this past weekend was really good for me. The energy up there is just nuts, and I could really see myself being a part of it.”
