There is no offseason in college football recruiting.
Kylan Fox, a class of 2024 four-star athlete, named his top 15 schools on Sunday. Tennessee made the cut.
Of his over 60 offers, Fox had dwindled his choices down to Florida State, Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Miami, South Carolina, Auburn, Louisville, Stanford, North Carolina, Cincinnati, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
The athlete out of Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., ranks as the No. 194 prospect nationally, and the No. 29 prospect out of Georgia.
Despite being listed as an athlete on 247Sports, the 6-foot-4 and 208-pounder plays mainly at tight end and EDGE rusher.
During the month of January, Fox took unofficial visits to Florida, Florida State, and Colorado. The Seminoles, like several other teams, view fox as a versatile pass-catching tight end.
Fox was among a flock of blue-chip prospects who attended Deion Sanders’ first junior day at Colorado. Anytime Sanders extends a prospect an offer, it’s safe to say they will take it seriously.
As for the Vols, Fox was last on campus in October. He had been to campus three times before for camps. Tennessee extended Fox a scholarship offer in June of last year.
Tennessee is currently in search of tight end depth, and the Vols will be in even more need of a tight end after this season. Currently, Tennessee has Jacob Warren and UC Davis transfer McCallan Castles as its most experienced tight ends. Incoming freshman Ethan Davis also helps give the Vols some depth.
Warren is out of eligibility following this season, and Castles will also be out of eligibility. Fox could have the opportunity to come in and impact Tennessee’s offense immediately, if he chooses to stay on the offensive side of the ball.
Tennessee currently has three commitments in the class of 2024 – four-star athlete Johnathan Echols, four-star cornerback Kaleb Beasley and three-star defensive lineman Carson Gentle.
