Responding to questions about whether or not his offense is too gimmicky to produce quality NFL talent at the Big Orange Caravan in Chattanooga, Tennessee football head coach Josh Heupel noted that the NFL is changing to adapt to college offenses. He added that he’s had more receivers drafted the past three years than any other college coach.

Big Ten closing game on SEC in draft picks
For the first time since 2018, the SEC didn’t lead every other conference in NFL Draft picks by double digits. The league had 62 players selected, its fewest since 55 in 2018 as well. Coming in second was the Big Ten at 55, the conference that has been second every year since 2019. However, the last time the Big Ten was within 10 of the SEC was 2016. Still, the SEC had the most selections for the 17th straight year.
College Football Playoff schedule released
The schedule for the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff, which goes into effect in a year, has been released. Teams who didn’t get a bye will play the first round of games on campus Dec. 20 and Dec. 21, 2024. They will play the quarterfinals in four of the New Years Six Bowls, one Dec. 31 and three Jan. 1, and the semifinals in the other two, Jan. 9 and Jan. 10, before the national title game Jan. 20.
