It has been a busy weekend for Tennessee Football recruiting. The Vols have landed three prospects, with the latest being offensive lineman Gage Ginther.
The three-star prospect announced his commitment to Tennessee on Saturday, just one week after a trip to Knoxville.
The class of 2024 offensive lineman from Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins, Colo. chose Tennessee over Colorado, Nebraska, Oregon and USC, among others.
“I was just sitting there and I was like, ‘I love everything about it.’ There wasn’t a single con,” Ginther told 247Sports. “My cousin lives there, too, so all my family will be able to come out and watch me, and it’s closer for them. Everything about it, I love. I went to the airport after I left, and I knew I was committing.”
At 6-foot-5.5 and 287 pounds, Ginther could play anywhere on the offensive line. He could end up at tackle for the Vols, which is where he played most in high school although being listed as an interior offensive lineman.
As an interior offensive lineman, Ginther ranks No. 52 in his class. He sits as the No. 2 prospect from Colorado and the No. 754 prospect nationally.
Ginther becomes the second offensive lineman to commit to Tennessee this weekend, joining fellow three-star prospect Jesse Perry. Perry is the No. 74 offensive tackle and the No. 33 prospect out of Tennessee.
Tennessee’s 2024 class currently sits at No. 7 in 247Sports’ rankings.
The 2024 class for Tennessee is currently comprised of four-star quarterback Jake Merklinger, four-star athlete Johnathan Echols, four-star JJ Harrell, four-star cornerback Kaleb Beasley, four-star Marcus Goree Jr. and three-star defensive lineman Carson Gentle along with three-star offensive linemen Ginther and Perry.
The momentum is picking up for Josh Heupel and his group heading into the summer.
