Elite 2024 DL commits to Tennessee football
As written about on Off The Hook Sports Friday, Tennessee football added a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Kellen Lindstrom. An edge rusher from Missouri, Lindstrom is the Vols 11th commitment and is keeping their 2024 recruiting class in the top 10 across the board. Standing at 6’5″ and weighing 235 pounds, the Glendale High School prospect from Springfield, Mo., could bring a lot to Rocky Top.
DraftKings sets Tennessee football win total for 2023
The over/under win total for Tennessee football in 2023 on DraftKings is officially set at 9.5, behind the Alabama Crimson Tide at 10.5 and the Georgia Bulldogs at 11.5. Joe Milton III is tied for ninth on the Heisman odds at +2000, and the Vols’ national championship odds are 12th at +2800. Which of these odds is the most accurate?
Men’s basketball loses player to transfer; Lady Vols add transfer
Guard B.J. Edwards has entered the transfer portal. Edwards was expected to back up Zakai Zeigler last year for Tennessee basketball but saw limited minutes, even after Zeigler was hurt. As written about here, this transfer speaks to the Vols’ depth a guard. Meanwhile, the women’s basketball team added Wake Forest Demon Deacons transfer Jewel Spear, a top five scorer in the ACC the past two years.
Could the ACC be dead?
Recent reports have shown the Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes, Clemson Tigers and North Carolina Tar Heels want to end equal revenue sharing in the ACC and earn a bigger piece of the pie. However, leaving the league before 2036 would be extremely costly for any of them. Who has the leverage? Do the powerhouse programs have a card to play to end the conference?
