In the not-too-distant future, the Tennessee Football passing attack could feature a dynamic duo of in-state talent. Obviously, Josh Heupel already has the successor to Nico Iamaleava in Nashville-area quarterback George MacIntyre, who is committed to the 2025 class.

Well, now he may have found MacIntyre’s go-to target, or at least one of them. Radarious Jackson out of Memphis became the ninth commitment in the Vols’ 2025 recruiting class. ON3 reported his commitment initially. Immediately, MacIntyre tweeted out about it.

A four-star on 247Sports Composite, Jackson already stands at 6’2″ 195 pounds, and he has another year of high school ball to play. The standout prospect out of Sheffield High School in Shelby County, Tenn., had a breakout year in 2023 playing both sides of the ball.

One look at Jackson’s highlight reel will show you what he’s great at. Jackson doesn’t have immediate speed off the snap, but he’s got incredible hands, he’s very shifty and he knows how to adjust on routes. Those are all huge advantages to playing for UT.

In fact, he could be another Bru McCoy type player in the future with his style, particularly if he continues to grow. After all, he could see himself get to 6’4″ and 215 pounds by the time he’s a starter for Rocky Top in the future given where he already is.

The shiftiness is a bit of a question given his level of competition, but his hands and physicality should more than make up for that. At worst, he could be a Ramel Keyton, a guy who is a reliable possession receiver and does everything he’s supposed to.

Still, the McCoy or even Cedric Tillman route is the goal for this kid. In 2026, don’t be surprised if Tennessee Football has a Nashville to Memphis connection with MacIntyre to Jackson. The Vols now have two receivers committed for 2025, as Joakim Dodson committed to them back in February.
