Tennessee Predicted to Play in the Citrus Bowl

College football is less than a month away, and the closer we get, the more information that comes out on social media. Some of it’s good, but some of it’s, well, bad… really bad. One snapped has yet to be played and we’re already predicting which teams go to which bowl games? Apparently.

So much affects the outcome of a single college football game, much less an entire season. Remember September 2, 2017, when #3 Florida State not only lost to #1 Alabama by 14, but also lost their starting quarterback in the process? That was the year FSU was supposed to be headed to the ‘ship but ended up with a 3-5 conference record and 7-6 overall.

Things change and “predictions” are rarely accurate. But hey, football isn’t here just yet, so we decided to chime in.

As you can see, we were a little puzzled by the Citrus Bowl since Tennessee didn’t seem to have an opponent. Too many NIL deals gone sideways? Was the transfer portal’s appeal too strong? Or perhaps the Vols were just so much better that the other team decided not to show?

It’s possible.

However, after digging a little further, it seems that Athlon originally made a BIG10 selection to star in the Citrus Bowl against the Tennessee Volunteers: the Wisconsin Badgers.

If this prediction should come true, never fear Tennessee fans; you’re about to experience a game with the nicest people you’ve ever met.
