The Transfer Portal Claims Two Tennessee WR’s

It’s often said the Jimmies and Joes win championships. Well, Tennessee is without two Jimmies.

Receiver Jimmy Calloway announced his decision to likely leave Tennessee on Tuesday via Twitter.

Players that enter the transfer portal can return to their original school, but schools do not have to keep their scholarship available once they enter the portal.

Calloway shouldn’t be considered as much of a loss since he only caught nine passes for 124 yards in three years at Tennessee. He joins Jimmy Holiday as the two Tennessee receivers to enter the portal. Holiday announced his potential transfer plans via Instagram.

The Vols will have to rebuild their receiving corps that was headlined by Jalin Hyatt, who is a finalist for the Biletinikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver. Hyatt is expected to enter the NFL Draft in April, but no formal announcement has been made. The Vols are also expected to lose Cedric Tillman to the NFL after an injury-plagued senior season, although Tillman could return as a super senior.
