It was a brutal recruiting day for Tennessee Football Monday, which isn’t desirable in arguably UT’s most important recruiting month under Josh Heupel. Caleb Calhoun and Dave Hooker dive into that on Off The Hook Sports’ Tuesday, June 6 podcast along with Vols on the College Football Hall of Fame ballot. Also, will the Big 12 add two of the Four Corner schools?

Three Vols on 2024 CFB HoF ballot

Former Tennessee Football wide receivers Willie Gault and Larry Seivers are on the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame ballot. Head coach Josh Heupel is also on the ballot from his success as a player with the Oklahoma Sooners in 1999 and 2000, when he won a national championship.

Greatest players AND coaches from Tennessee Football

While Heupel is on the Hall of Fame ballot as a player, his star is rising as a coach. Four players are in the hall as a player and coach, and two came from Tennessee Football. Which Vols were elite college football players AND coaches? They either have to have played for or coached at UT.

Caleb Jarreau on Tennessee Football recruiting

On Monday, Tennessee Football suffered a devastating blow with the decommitment of J.J. Harrell from their 2024 recruiting class. The Vols also lost out on linebacker Sammy Brown, who committed to the Clemson Tigers. How big of a deal is this given how important this month is for Heupel?

Colorado, Arizona reportedly to Big 12

It appears the Big 12 has its expansion teams. After the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners join the SEC, they will reportedly add the Colorado Buffaloes and Arizona Wildcats. That will keep them at 14. Could they expand to 16? What does this mean for the Pac-12 long-term?

Group of Five programs that could be Power Five

Although Power Five at this point is arbitrary since there’s really a Power Two coming, the leagues are still expanding, and if the Big 12 does raid the Pac-12, the door will open for more teams to join a Power Five conference. At this point, which teams are the best positioned to do that?
